If you’ve been spending more time at home due to the quarantine, you could probably use some new ideas to help keep your children occupied. Since we love cars so much, here are some fun car-themed craft ideas for kids.
With basic paper plates and some construction paper, you can create a fun traffic light. Cut the paper plate in half and paint it black. Take a piece of black construction paper and cut that in half lengthwise and glue it between the paper plates. Cut out a circle of red, yellow, and green and glue those in place and you will have a completed traffic light.
To make these clothespin cars, you will need wooden clothespins, paint, glue, construction paper or cardstock, and any other decorative items you might want to add.
Magnetic car track
Your kids will love this craft and how they can control their paper cars using a simple magnet. This craft requires sturdy paper plates, large Popsicle sticks, something to color with, glue or glue dots, and small circular magnets. Have your kids draw their own track or road on the paper plate and cut out a small car from a piece of paper. Glue a magnet to the back of the car and the tip of the Popsicle stick. As they move the stick under the plate, the car will “drive” along the track.
